Thank you very much for your support….
With our recent Communicating to parents and the School Satisfaction Survey.
Both are important, as they contribute information about your child’s learning and how you feel about our school, across many dimensions including Health and Wellbeing. This information then guides school actions and priorities. The Student Wellbeing Survey has also been completed recently and will contribute to the decisions we make at school. I’m particularly interested in identifying when students feel safe or unsafe at school and what could we do to support them more? I wonder if they have a key person at school they can talk to are they involved in a supportive friendship group? When children feel safe and they feel a sense of belonging, then they can focus on their learning.
Teachers across the school made themselves available last week as a part of the Communicating learning progress with Families. This is like the old reporting process, but hopefully more practical. Teachers have generally used your child’s work to identify what they have learned and the focus of learning moving forward. You may recall the Term 2 process included an A-E report across the Australian Curriculum. Next Term we will have another piece of student work and the final A-E report for the year. If you were unable to join us this term, please feel free to make an appointment with your child’s teacher through the front office. One of the most important things parents can do is take an active interest in their child’s learning.
Lastly, as I reflect on the tired faces I see around school, I know there are a lot of people out there keen for Friday and the two weeks of school holidays – I know I am.
Thank you again for all your support, enjoy the holidays and please send your child back to us in the best condition for the last term of the year!

On Thursday 7 & Friday 8 of September the SRC ran some Disney Swaps sessions where students were able to swap their cards. A BIG thank you to everyone who came along. Twenty students represented Springfield Gardens Primary School at the Variety Children’s Sports Day. Students participated in a variety of sports, and everyone got to try something new and different.
